The Division of Emergency Medicine includes over a dozen active researchers in every aspect of emergency medicine. Some areas of particular emphasis include neurologic emergencies, toxicology, ultrasound, geriatric emergency medicine, critical care, acute coronary care, etc. We collaborate with other researchers in other departments such as Neurology, Cardiology, Neurosurgery, Radiology, Infectious Disease, Surgical Critical Care, etc. Several of our faculty have grant support from NIH, AHRQ, AHA and others.
Our four-year residency program allows time for a greater emphasis on research. All residents participate in research projects ranging from small start-up projects to larger grant-funded projects.
