Residents' stipend schedule for 2012-2013
PGY-1 $48,952
PGY-2 $51,150
PGY-3 $53,454
PGY-4 $55,861

Vacation
All house staff are provided three calendar weeks paid vacation per year.

Insurance
For major medical and dental insurance, premiums are made by payroll deduction
for either HMO or PPO plans. The cost is substantially underwritten with coverage
for the resident and family available. Medications can be purchased from the
hospital pharmacy at cost.

Life and disability insurance is available for up to $1.5 million of coverage. This
insurance may be extended to cover family members.

Complete malpractice protection in excess of $1,000,000 per occurrence is provided
at no cost to the resident.

Licensure
Training Missouri licensure is also provided if needed.

Meal, Supplies and Parking Stipends
On-Call Meals: Residents always receive a discount in the cafeteria. At the
beginning of each two-week pay period, residents receive a meal ticket per night
On-Call for the month. (Overnight shifts in the EM are not considered On-Call
for the purpose of receiving meal tickets.)

Lab Coats: Lab coats are provided to the resident at no cost, up to four per year.

Parking: Residents have free access to several open and covered lots on
the campus.

Professional Societies and Conferences
Society Membership
: Residents are encouraged to participate in professional
medicine societies.

Travel to Conferences: The residency program pays the travel expenses of
residents who are travelling to a conference to present research results or
who are travelling in an official capacity to represent the residency (e.g. travel
for the SAEM residency representative to the regional and national SAEM
meeting is paid for).
